What Sundial Tree Care is

Sundial Tree Care connects Redding-area homeowners with independent, third-party tree service providers for removal, trimming, and stump grinding work. We don't perform tree work ourselves — we help you find a provider who does. By using this website or submitting a request through our form, you acknowledge that Sundial Tree Care does not itself perform tree removal, trimming, stump grinding, or any other tree service work, and does not employ the technicians who do.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to submit a request through this site or to opt in to receive text messages from us.

No guarantee of licensing, insurance, or outcome

California requires a CSLB C-49 ("Tree and Palm Contractor") license for most paid tree removal, trimming, and stump-grinding work. A project under $1,000 total (labor + materials) that needs no permit can qualify for the state's minor-work exemption (AB 2622, claude_FACTS_CA_STATE.md CA-007) — but most tree removal and major trimming jobs exceed that. Always verify a provider's C-49 license number yourself using CSLB's free Check a License tool (cslb.ca.gov) before hiring. We do not independently verify every provider's license, insurance, or workmanship before connecting you, and we make no warranty, express or implied, about the quality, safety, licensing status, or outcome of any work performed by a provider we connect you with. You are responsible for verifying a provider's license and insurance before hiring them.

SMS text message program

If you opt in through our lead form's consent checkbox, you agree to receive text messages from Sundial Tree Care related to your tree service request — including confirmations and follow-up about your quote. Consent to receive these messages names Sundial Tree Care and the independent tree service provider(s) matched to your request. This consent is not required to submit your request; the checkbox is unticked by default and disclosed clearly, as required by carrier rules.

• Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier and plan.

• Reply STOP at any time to opt out of further text messages.

• Reply HELP for help, or use our contact page.

• Carrier liability disclaimer: carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

If you are later matched with a specific tree service provider, that provider may separately ask for your consent to contact you directly for its own marketing purposes — a consent decision that is theirs to obtain and yours to make, separate from the consent described here.

How we name consent (internal standard)

As our own internal practice — not because current federal law requires this specific format — we structure consent to name the specific receiving business or businesses at the time you give it: Sundial Tree Care and the independent tree service provider(s) matched to your request. If your request is later matched to a different provider than the one(s) named at submission, we obtain fresh, provider-specific consent before that provider sends you automated marketing messages.

Acceptable use

You agree to provide accurate information when submitting a request, and not to use this site to submit fraudulent, harassing, or abusive requests.

Intellectual property

The content on this site — including our cost research, guides, and design — belongs to Sundial Tree Care or its licensors and may not be reproduced without permission, except for personal, non-commercial reference.

Cost figures, permit information, and legal summaries on this site are provided for general informational purposes, are dated as of the "last reviewed" or "updated" date shown on each page, and can become outdated. Nothing on this site is legal, financial, or professional advice — see the specific disclaimers on our neighbor tree law and permit guides. Our hazard-sign walk-arounds are informational checklists for deciding how urgently to act — they are not a substitute for an in-person professional assessment, and following them does not guarantee your safety or the accuracy of any conclusion you draw from them.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sundial Tree Care is not liable for any damages arising from your use of this site, your reliance on its content, or the acts or omissions of any independent tree service provider we connect you with. Any work performed is solely between you and the provider you hire.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of this site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
